This statement applies to content published on the https://lgpsregs.org domain.
This website managed and maintained by the secretariat of the Local Government Pensions Committee (LGPC), operating within the pensions team at the Local Government Association (LGA).
The website was substantially redeveloped and relaunched in September 2026 and has been designed to be accessible and usable by as many people as possible. We aim to ensure that content is clear, easy to understand, and compatible with assistive technologies.
How accessible this website is
We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible.
Most content on the redeveloped website has been created to meet accessibility requirements. However, some older content remains that is not fully accessible, including:
- the Old Timeline Regulations section
- some older PDF documents published on the website
- some archived content that predates current accessibility standards.
We are still making final improvements to the website following its redevelopment. We intend to commission an independent accessibility audit and review, which we expect to complete by the end of March 2027.

Non-accessible content
Old Timeline Regulations section
The Timeline Regulations section is a legacy section of the website that contains historic regulations and supporting information. This section has not been redeveloped as part of the September 2026 website refresh. We are not planning to substantially update this section because the cost and resource required to redevelop it would be disproportionate to the limited use and benefit derived from the content.
Known accessibility issues within this section may include:
- inconsistent heading structures
- missing page landmarks
- tables without appropriate markup
- keyboard navigation difficulties
- links that are not sufficiently descriptive
- content that may not be read in the correct order by assistive technologies.
These issues may fail various WCAG 2.2 AA success criteria relating to structure, navigation, keyboard access and compatibility with assistive technology.
Older PDF documents
Some older PDF documents published on the website are not fully accessible and may not:
- be structured for screen readers
- contain appropriate document headings
- provide alternative text for images
- meet colour contrast requirements.
We are committed to ensuring that any new PDFs published on the website meet accessibility standards wherever reasonably practicable.
Archived content
There is a considerable quantity of archive material produced before 23 September 2018 that is exempt from the accessibility regulations because it is not needed for active administrative processes and is not being updated.

Disproportionate burden
We have assessed the cost and resource implications of redeveloping the Old Timeline Regulations section and remediating all known accessibility issues.
Given the age of the content, its specialist nature, relatively limited use, and the extensive redevelopment work that would be required, we believe that fully addressing these issues at this time would represent a disproportionate burden within the meaning of the accessibility regulations.
For this reason, the section will remain available in its current form. The accessibility issues identified above are provided so that users are aware of its limitations.
We will keep this assessment under review as part of future website development work.
How this website was tested
The redeveloped website is currently undergoing final review and refinement. An independent accessibility audit is planned and is expected to be completed by the end of March 2027 Following the audit, this statement will be updated to reflect the findings and any remediation work required.
What we are doing to improve accessibility
We are continuing to make improvements following the September 2026 redevelopment of the website.
Our plans include:
- completing an independent accessibility audit by the end of March 2027
- addressing issues identified through the audit where reasonably practicable
- ensuring that new content and documents comply with accessibility standards
- reviewing accessibility feedback from users on an ongoing basis.
