Government responds to Stronger Nudge to pensions guidance consultation

The Government has responded to the DWP consultation on a Stronger Nudge to pensions guidance. The Occupational and Personal Pension Schemes (Disclosure of Information) (Requirements to Refer Members to Guidance etc.) (Amendment) Regulations 2022 come into force from 1 June 2022. The Government’s consultation response suggests that there have been changes to the proposals that were originally consulted on. We will provide an update on the impact on LGPS members with an in-house AVC once we have had chance to study the Regulations. We do not expect these changes to affect members taking or transferring their LGPS pension if they do not have an LGPS AVC.
